Stopped for lunch on a Thursday at noon. Not too crowded so was seated right away. Was looking at the pasta dishes but the waitress mentioned a "slice and salad" lunch special. Salad was large and very good. Pizza was excellent!

Food was 'ok'. Service was horrible! Our waitress should have been a magician because she had the disappearing act down to a T. I am new to town and this place can now be marked off of my list of places to try. Been there, done that... Will not be going back :(

Stopped in here for lunch. I ordered the Italian sandwich, and it was absolutely gigantic. The menu claimed the bread is fresh-baked everyday, and it certainly tasted like it. The bread was piled high with ham and salami. The ham in particular had to have been 1.5-2 inches thick. I can usually pack it away pretty good, and I couldn't finish the sandwich. The sandwich came with a generous portion of fries, which I also was unable to finish. My coworker ordered a small salad. It was small in name only and would be a large at most other restaurants. Our server explained the size of the large salad, and it sounded like it was a better fit for 2 people. I didn't taste it, so I can't comment on its quality, but it certainly looked fresh. My only issue was the service. It wasn't terrible by any means, but it also wasn't great. We sat for quite a while with menus while our server just sort of hung out. Normally I wouldn't mind waiting a few extra minutes, but I had to get back to work so the delay in ordering caused me to have to rush through my lunch a bit. If I'd been there to watch a football game and I'd been sipping on a beer I probably wouldn't have noticed. But that's the reason its a 3-star review and not a 4-star. Overall: good food, huge portions for the price, service is a tad slow, but I'd still recommend it.

Service was nice and friendly but took forever when the place was not too crowded. I don't mind waiting they just seemed short staffed and weren't overly attentive. Food was mediocre to good. Feel it should have been larger portions. Thanks!

Great local spot for pizza and a beer. They don't have beer on draft...only bottles. Atmosphere was very casual. We ordered a medium pizza which was $15. The food is made to order so it took a little longer than normal. Definitely go early. The place is tiny so tables are limited. We went at 5:30 and were sat quickly but it took 30 minutes to get our food.

The Stromboli was pretty good. This place is like your average small town Italian / pizza place. The pizza is decent.

The sercice isn't flawless, but I have 3 rowdy nephews that like food. The servers pleasently deal with our odd requests have three oppinionated boys, all under the age of 10, placing their orders. The place is a little loud, usually with other families with kids, or big parties, so my nephews and I fit right in. If you have a big family, or a few kids to take out for lunch/dinner go here. By the way, the food is good, and the portions are HUGE. With my nephews in tow, this place can't be beat.

Update to my previous review...ownership has since changed and so has the quality. Pizza cheese was not 100% real cheese and you can no longer order just a side house salad. It's either a dinner salad at full price or a speciality salad. I know good pizza due to where I am from and it is no longer at Blue Jeans. Service is ok but have heard complaints go ignored. The pasta sauce tastes like its jarred Ragu. It's a shame cause this place was yummy, not so much anymore. You can tell the new owners jumped in and started cutting corners to save money.

Had the calzone. It was ok. It's big but the veggies are not cook. The green peppers were cut big and still too crunchy. It wasn't bad, just ok. The family ordered a pizza and they loved it.

Ate lunch here with the family (including two small kids) while on vacation in Blue Ridge. Pizza was quite good, but service was just so-so. There is no children's menu, but since most kids like pizza, that was not a problem for us. The restaurant is essentially a large room with a bar on one side and a big screen tv on the other. The decor is lousy with a mix of old movie posters and photos of NY. Overall a pretty good experience, but nothing you wouldn't find at any other pizza/pasta parlor.

We were up in Blue Ridge for a long weekend, and the first place we went to eat was Blue Jean's on a recommendation from a friend. It was absolutely worth it. Looks like a normal pizza joint, and not much atmosphere, but the pies are awesome! Authentic NY style crust, and very tasty. Also enjoyed a Caesar Salad with chicken which was tasty. Highly recommended for casual dining with the family (or without), for a great pizza and beer!

Best pizza in Blue Ridge. Fresh dough - no pizza blanks here. Slightly sweet sauce. Good selection of toppings.

Fantastic pizza. Ate here on a Friday night. Long wait, but worth it. Not much as far as decor but who cares. A few tv's and the food was great. My wife got a "personal" size pizza and she couldn't finish it. Highly recommend.

Pretty typical pizza and pasta place, not too bad on the price and great to grab take-out from and take to the drive-in just down the road (take 1st St, which runs behind Downtown Blue Ridge, little bit of a short-cut rather than taking the main road). We have tended to lean towards take-out after our first experience was a bit lack-luster on service. It's nothing phenomenal, but have a feeling it will stick around given it's close proximity to Downtown, the small theatre in the same building and the price.

Food was really good but service was horrible. Waitress stood at bar socializing instead of refilling drinks or seeing if we needed anything else. She literally ignored us.

Amazing pizza. We had excellent service. They were especially attentive to the kids, who are twin toddlers (and a handful). I will def come back here if we visit again. My kids scarfed the spinach pizza. Yeah, spinach yo.

Business was recently sold by the original owners. The food is okay and decent Italian stuff but the original owners made better pizza in my opinion. It is a great place to feed kids and they have a large menu. The ice tea is great, brewed and fresh. The interior has black walls and the whole place is dark which is very off-putting to many people.

Basing this review on one visit. My wife and I split the lasagna which is plenty for 2 people. I really like their lasagna. It has plenty of flavor without being overly seasoned. Only thing I wish they offered is beer on tap. It's only available in bottles, and their are several breweries in Blue Ridge. It would be nice if they offered them here.

So disappointed ! Ordered take out and got ripped! Don't know what happened! $45 worth $15! Dominos is better! Used to be the place now totally disappointed!

Best pizza around! Meals are prepared to order, but well worth the wait.

Came here looking for a quaint pizza place and got what I wanted. The appetizers were ok nothibg special but tasted good. The service was very good and friendly. The pizza was AMAZING and is freshly made in house. All the toppings were fresh cooked and delicous. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.

Food was great and the waitress was super. Very nice of her to let us know the wings are usually great, but don't get them today, we got a small batch and they are not very good. Pizza was amazing especially the toppings.

Great pizza! Thin crust and made perfectly. Only complaint is that when this restaurant is busy it is impossible to get your food and the staff is unapologetic.

  • Linda M.

The pizza is the best in town in my opinion. The garlic rolls are also very good but heavy on the butter. As mentioned on several other reviews here, the service can be on the slow side, even when they are not busy. We know this going in so we are always ready to wait. The pizza is that good.

New owners means new style of pizza. Blue Jeans no longer makes a New York Style pizza but now it is a more generic restaurant / gas station pizza. And yeah the service is still slow from start to finish. Speaking of gas station, the bathrooms are nasty! We are officially done with Blue Jeans after 3 years.

Ok I'm giving the food here a four star and the staff here a two . I called in a Togo order here while visiting from out of town . I was told 35 minutes and when I got there I had to wait an additional 25 minutes for my order . The waitresses here where less than friendly expect for one older lady who was very helpful . That being said I ordered a pizza and stromboli both were delicious and worth the wait . Some of the best stromboli I've had . So if you're in the mood for pizza come here just don't be in a hurry and don't plan on friendly service .

A local recommended this place. We were surprised by a very rude, unprofessional sign on the door that read "we are not a fast food restaurant . If you don't like it leave". We were never greeted at the door & there was a party of 9 & another party of 2 ahead of us. From the entry, the food arriving at tables looked good. We noticed there were a number of available tables but we were never acknowledged. A gentleman with the large party approached a woman who appeared to be in charge & simply asked about a table. She snapped rudely at him. We were appalled at her horrible, inappropriate remarks & behavior. He then made the comment that they had waited a long time. She may have been the rudest waitress I have EVER observed in a restaurant & I have lived in 9 states & travel constantly. The man went to walk out the door to an outdoor waiting area & the woman accosted him & jerked the beer out of his hand saying "you can't take that outside!" Hmmm, if she had given this party any attention at all, she would have noticed he had already been drinking the beer in the outdoor waiting area. When hearing their exchange, My friend & I decided we would not be eating at such a poorly run establishment. I told the waitress we were not with the large party or the man but because of the way she treated him, we were leaving. Do not bother even going to this restaurant. It will be a complete waste of time. They have no business being in the food service business because they have NO social skills, NO courteous behavior & they do not care about the customers. Blue Jeans Pizza does not deserve your patronage. Bad, bad, bad waitress. Short bleach blonde rude waitress that was beyond rude. She was rude & nasty!

Waited for 45 minutes at the door. When it was our turn to sit, they informed us they were out of food!!!! And it's a busy holiday week. Very disappointing!

I have lived in a Buffalo for a couple of years and have grown accustomed to good wings and pizza. So when I ate the take out pizza and wings from a Blue Jeans, I didn't find them to be that great. The pizza (New York) was better than the wings, which felt undercooked. I think I would've been more satisfied had we ordered from the local Pizza Hut.

TWO STRIKES AND YOU ARE OUT,,,my husband went in on a Friday evening for a take out pizza and was told they were too busy to handle take out orders. They have always handled take out and are so under staffed they can't handle the business, We decided to try it again for lunch and waited to be seated. The woman who seated us said our waitress would be right with us. There were dirty tables around us and the place in General is dirty. We waited 10 minutes but no one came over. The waitresses bussed tables and ignored us. We got up and left. This restaurant never used to be like this. It has really gone down hill. Skip it

We had a great experience after spending the day rafting the Ocoee. Decent food. We had Pizza, Stromboli, Greek salad and fried pickles.

We visited a few years ago before they moved into the old theatre space. At that time I recall the service, prices and food were excellent. This latest visit was on a Saturday night although the business was very slow at the time we were there. Now it seems to be quite expensive for average style so-so Pizza. No selections for smaller appetite pizza or pasta eaters other than the personal pizza which began at nine dollars. They would not allow lunch sized pasta portions to be ordered for dinner. Wife ordered spinach calzone which had to be sent back because it was cold inside. The restrooms appear to be shared by the entire building and are very oddly located, having you leave the restaurant through the back door walk down the hall and then up another hall to restrooms in a seemingly deserted part of the building. This will not be a repeat visit place for us and I'm not sure we will continue to recommend it to our guests as a must-visit.

We ate there back in the fall this year. All I can say is that the service is the worst. Will not ever go back. And the owner obviously cares nothing about the customers. The food was just OK. Definitely nothing special, just your run of the mill pizza, pasta. Probably one of the most poorly run restaurants I've ever been to.

Terrible experience here. Has changed a lot in last few years. Not the same place. Now more of a bat than family place. Dark and loud. Terrible slow service. Marginal food. Used to really live this place. Would be first place visited when coming into town for or yearly visit. No more. This time ordered wings well done, light on the sauce. Came barely cooked dripping in nasty thick, orange sauce. Took over an hour to get it pizza. No one seemed to care

Food was good. Portion size is large. Rolls are really good. My only complaint is that we had to wait to be seated and our waitress was not very attentive.

I have had a second home near Blue Ridge for 7 years and have visited this place often. Since new ownership about 2 years ago, it hasn't been the same; mostly from a service perspective. Yesterday my wife and I went in for lunch. The place was half empty. We were seated and were told our server would be with us shortly. While there were plenty of empty tables, the 2 servers spent their time cleaning tables instead of waiting on us. After 10 minutes of being ignored we left. This is not the first bad experience lately, and will probably never return.

Arrived at 8pm. Walked in and stood for several minutes. A staff member came and told us they were closed. We reminded them the hours on the door said rest they were open until 9pm. She said they change their hours for the winter. Mind you this is the second time we have drove to eat there and it's been something. We left and I said to my husband, that's the last time. As we were walking back to our car, another couple was heading up to the restaurant, so we saved them the trouble of going up to the restaurant and told them they were closed. The gentleman says, " your kidding me, this is the second time something like this has happened and this will be the last time we come here". With saying all of this, I failed to mention that we come up to Blue Ridge area every year for a reunion with over 80 people that come from all over the US. We will make sure that this is put out in the news letter to boycott this restaurant.

The staff was pleasant, and the food was pretty good. The pizza was a little greasy, but the price was very fair. The after dinner mints are dank. Recommended for large groups.

Can't tell you about the food. We waited 40 min to get a seat and then the owner kicked us out saying it was too close to closing time. Really? Should have known better when there wasn't even a hostess and we had to put ourselves on a waiting list. How do places like this stay in business? Granted it was July 4th but guess what? It wasn't the first holiday weekend in what is primarily a vacation getaway town.

This place is a hidden jewel in Blue Ridge. We've had pizza there a couple of times which was always great, New York style pizza. They have a full menu of pasta and they have huge portions. Last weekend we had spaghetti and meat balls which came with a salad and garlic rolls and split it, and still had some left over for lunch. Lasagna is also great, pizza comes in large portions. They also have great desserts in a case, we had carrot cake last week which was very good, they also had red velvet cake and always have cheese cake. Great family place, great prices and portions. They also have a big screen with sports on it, and a bar, so it has a sport bar/pizza place feel to it. We'll be going back.

I'm really confused. Didn't this place used to be next to the Blue Ridge community theater and the art gallery? I used to go here when I lived in Blue Ridge a few years ago and it was really good! Then I went back last year with a bunch of friends from Atlanta and it seemed like it was in a different location; it was dark outside, but the inside looked completely different, and then the food was just ok - mediocre, even. I talked it up and then my friends were less than impressed. Can someone clear this up for me? Thank you. :)

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
